How can I send the track from my smartphone to my smartwatch?

From our Open Trail Races app you can download all the tracks of the races we offer you with a simple click. Do not use any track that is not identical to the one in the application, because with it we will validate that you have done the route correctly. If you follow a different route you will be disqualified. Be careful !!

Once you have downloaded the GPX file of the track on your smartphone, and depending on the smartwatch you have, you must do the following to send the track to your watch and thus be able to comfortably follow the route of the race:

POLAR:

On your phone, open the web browser with https://flow.polar.com. Enter your username and password. Click on the ⭐ “favorites” (top right), and click on “import”. This will allow you to search for the GPX file you downloaded before from OTR, you will usually find it in the “Recent” folder. Import it and once uploaded you will be able to sync your Polar watch with the Polar Flow app. Once synchronized, you will have the route available on your watch.

GARMIN:

On your phone, open the web browser with https://connect.garmin.com/. Enter your username and password. On the menu, click Training, then click Routes, and click “Import.” This will allow you to search for the GPX file you downloaded from OTR, you will usually find it in the “Recent” folder. Import it and once uploaded you will be able to sync your Garmin watch with the Garmin Connect app. Once synchronized, you will have the route available on your watch.

SUUNTO:

Open the Suunto app on your mobile, see the map, click on the ➕ button and select the import route (GPX) option. This will allow you to find the GPX file downloaded from OTR, which you will usually find in the “Recent” folder. Import it and once saved you just need to sync the Suunto watch with the Suunto app to have the route available on your watch.

If you don’t have a sports watch -> MOBILE APP:

If you do not have a sports watch, you can follow the route with a route tracking app, which is not the most convenient but will also serve. If you don’t have one, we recommend GPX VIEWER, which in its free version is enough to follow the route without getting lost. Once installed, when you download any track it will ask you or open it directly with this app.

Tip:

We always recommend that the first time you do a race you must do it calmly, study the route so you can return another day to compete. OTR will only show your best rank in the rankings.
